Place Yorkshire Q&A: Doncaster one year on

One year after Doncaster Corn Exchange reopened its doors, Place Yorkshire sat down with Simon to reflect on the project.

Success isn't measured at completion, but in the life that follows. Over the past year the building has hosted markets, performances, boxing events and community gatherings, a genuinely vibrant, socially inclusive space that welcomes people of all ages and backgrounds, and reflects the diversity of the city it serves.

For us, this project reinforces a belief at the core of our practice: the architect's role is one of civic stewardship, helping historic buildings remain relevant, useful and loved for generations to come.
